fireworks

this is my first take on fireworks photography. ito ay galing sa RobinsonsPlaceNovaliches, nung pag-ilaw ng higanteng Christmas tree nila. nung narinig ko yung putukan, dali-dali akong lumabas bitbit ang camera ko. matagal-tagal na rin akong naghihintay sa mga fireworks show para kuahanan. kakaiba. pero masmadali ang pagkuha ng mga ganito kaysa mga kidlat.

camera settings:

  • manual exposure - set focus to infinity. a relatively small aperture (i used the smallest aperture my camera can do). slow shutter speed, about 5-10s. timer at 2s. a low iso ( i used iso 50).
  • shutter speed priority - just set the speed to 5-10s. adjust other settings as above except the aperture (since you can't control this one at this mode).
  • scene mode - set it to fireworks. most cameras have this setting. everything is automatic.

what you need:
  • stable tripod
  • a good view
  • enough patience

difficulty: fairly easy because you don't have to focus much and you get to enjoy the view. ^_^

some tips:
  • get a good view of the fireworks. i got a lousy view with mine even though i was on the roof of our garage. =\ power cables blocking my view.
  • if your camera has a timer, use it. i used my camera's 2s timer. this will give time to stabilize the camera after pressing the shutter.
  • masmasaya kung kasama mo yung mga utol mo habang nanonood. hahaha.... ^_^

Wow, ang ganda! Very nice shot! ;) I was also in the area when the fireworks started. Too bad didn't have my camera with me. Meron ka pang ibang shots? =D
